COMMUNITY ADJUSTMENT FUND FOR SOUTH-WESTERN ONTARIO
Business Development Program
ATTENTION: POTENTIAL APPLICANTS:
Due to a high anticipated volume of applications and funding uncertainties, please contact Kristin Sainsbury (kristin@perthcfdc.ca or 519 595-6809) to discuss your intended application before you begin.
The Perth Community Futures Development Corporation offers a program that will support entrepreneurs as well as potential entrepreneurs in the development of a business, export or marketing plan in order to advance their business initiatives forward.
Eligible beneficiary : (Must be located and conduct business in Perth County) - Non-profit organizations (including municipalities, municipal organizations, societies, community development corporations and associations);
- Legal commercial entities including private sector, and SME;
- Aboriginal organizations;
- Groups, alliances or organizations mentioned above in which a main beneficiary has been designated.
Eligible activities may include: - Research;
- Business plan and marketing development;
- Development of export plans and activities;
- Feasibility studies;
- Research and development initiatives;
- Strategic plans;
- Trade show attendance; and
- Other activities designed to stimulate business opportunities.
Eligible costs may include: - Consultant and other professionals fees;
- Travel and meeting expenses;
- Materials and supplies;
- Trade Show expenses;
- Any other related costs; or
- other costs directly related to the approved Eligible Activities.
Eligible expenses: The contribution related to business development should not exceed a maximum amount of $5,000 or 90% of total eligible costs (excluding taxes). When choosing a consultant, the applicant must obtain at least two quotations. Please include the name and information concerning the consultant that was chosen with a copy of the terms of reference. PROJECTS MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE FEBRUARY 28, 2010.
Assessment: Applicants must demonstrate the following:
- that the business has the ability and resources to implement the initiative;
- a sound project budget and work plan;
- terms of reference for the consultant (if using one). Consultants must be arms-length, professional and recognized as providing high quality of work;
- impact of the project on the competitiveness of the business.
