COMMUNITY ADJUSTMENT FUND FOR SOUTH-WESTERN ONTARIO

Community Capacity Fund


ATTENTION: POTENTIAL APPLICANTS:

The objective of the Community Capacity Building Program is to strengthen Perth County communities by supporting economic development projects that are incremental, address local needs and priorities and result in long term benefits including job creation, economic diversification, and enhanced business competitiveness.


Eligible beneficiary: (Must be located and conduct business in Perth County)
  • Non-profit organizations (including municipalities, municipal organizations, societies, community development corporations and associations);
  • Aboriginal organizations;
  • Groups, alliances or organizations mentioned above in which a main beneficiary has been designated.

Eligible activities may include:
  • contribute to achieving CAF for SW Ontario CFDCs objectives by supporting community-based initiatives which stimulate business and community development opportunities, promote socioeconomic development leading to a competitive and diversified regional economy, contribute to the successful development of business and job opportunities and sustainable self-reliant communities;
  • demonstrate broad support from the respective community; and,
  • offer sustainable and measurable economic benefits to the local and/or regional economy.

Examples of such projects include but are not limited to projects that:
  • are innovative;
  • expand export and/or domestic markets;
  • develop economic infrastructure;
  • develop and/or maintain economic development networks;
  • tourism marketing and product development; and,
  • other activities in support of economic development.

Eligible costs may include:
  • marketing and advertising costs;
  • consulting and professional fees;
  • travel;
  • equipment and/or other costs directly related to the Eligible Activities.

Eligible expenses:

The contribution related to the Community Capacity Building program should not exceed a maximum amount of $150,000 per project. Eligible costs may be up 100% of total eligible costs (excluding taxes). ALL PROJECTS MUST BE COMPLETED AND FUNDS DISBURSED BEFORE FEBRUARY 28, 2010.


Assessment: Applicants must demonstrate the project proposed includes the following:
  • a sound project budget and work plan;
  • evidence of support from partners in the private sector, community organizations, municipalities an/or the provincial government or other funding organizations;
  • significant sustainable and measurable impact on the local business community or community as a whole;
  • assessment of need for the project;
  • demonstration of ability to implement and monitor the success of the project;
  • demonstration of how the initiative will be sustained if there is a plan for continued activity beyond time period.
