Woody Van Erk has been farming his whole life. Having grown up on a farm working alongside his father, his passion for organic farming only grew once he attended post-secondary school. With hopes of sharing his knowledge of organic farming, Cow Planet LTD. began 10 years ago to sell organic minerals to farmers.

Woody began Cow Planet LTD. because in his heart, he is "organic minded." Bridging his passion for an organic lifestyle with his skills and knowledge of farming practices seemed like an obvious career path. Woody wants to serve as an example that organic farming practices can be made easy and offers a safer and healthier alternative to regular commercial farming.

In the last two years, Woody decided that he wanted to begin a beef farm.

In order to embark on his new endeavour, he required funding to acquire the cattle, feed, and build barns. With the costs growing, Woody knew he needed financial support to make his dreams a reality. After reaching out to traditional lenders with no luck, Woody came across Perth CFDC and secured the financial support he required to expand his farm.

Woody stated that, without the support of Perth Community Futures, he would not have been able to expand his farm to offer organic beef to the community. His passion and dedication to organic farming has been able to reach new heights with the financial support provided by Perth CFDC.
